Nostalgia
The mild breeze blowing in the summer morn hours
The heady fragrance of the siris flowers
The bright yellow blossoms of the Laburnum tree
The melodious song of the koel
All tease me and remind me of the days when I was free
They’ve long gone, never to return.
Oh ! How I yearn
For those long walks and all the girly talk
For the lazy, hot afternoons spent napping
with plenty of time
to kill
For the evenings immersed in reading books
filled with romance,
adventure and thrill.
For those nights when on the terrace we would lie
Starring at the star studded sky,
Dreaming ,wondering what the future would be like.
Many a times I long for my mothers’ soothing touch
Knowing fully well that my wish will never be fulfilled
Not in this life, even though I crave for it so much.
Maybe there will be a
miracle, I will get a chance again
And she can wipe away my loneliness and pain.
